Getting to the end of term - my first year of my Masters is almost over!
I'm excited to be done one year, and also apprehensive at the same time. Soon I'll have to go out into this 'real world' that everyone always talks about.
Regardless, I have been making some new things that are over in my store, and I'll post some of the creative processes soon. Coming up: how I was inspired by Art Nouveau design!

Home for Reading Week
I made the ultimate mistake of not bringing any jewellery making materials home with me over reading week, and I'm going a little crazy without it! I should, however, be doing schoolwork so maybe it's a good thing.
I am also using it as an opportunity to try out some different artistic mediums - I bought some Fimo, and I'm going to try and make chess pieces. There may be some experimenting with the Cranium clay first.

Square Earrings

I originally got the idea for these earrings when I was putting together a pair of earrings to match a pendant I'd made. The original earrings use just a single square bead, but I really liked the look of them.
I'd been struggling to find something to do with these square mother of pearl beads - they tend to spin around on the wire. This doesn't usually matter with round beads, but with square, rectangular, or circular but flat beads, it's a little annoying. However, wrapping the first pair of earrings worked really well to keep them in place, so I thought I'd try it with multiple beads and make an interesting pair of dangle earrings.

Jade Teardrop Earrings

I've been making a lot of these 'teardrop' earrings lately.
They're made with wire and jade, and are pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. I basically sat myself down and made about 5 pairs in one go.
In other news, I have a new order of beads coming in (because I need more!), and I'm excited to start experimenting with some new colours and bead shapes.
